Custom Home Builders in Chatham, ON

Chatham is a community within the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, and the custom home builders on this page work across that whole municipality as much as in town. Eight businesses are here. Some are based in Chatham-Kent itself, around Merlin, and others sit in Newbury and Dresden, so the page reads as a rural, small-town market more than a city one.

Several of the builders have been at it for a long time. Multi Construction Inc. is a third-generation home builder that has built in Chatham-Kent since 1972, with rancher, raised rancher and two-storey models alongside custom design, framing and carpentry. Bouma Builders Inc has built custom homes here since 1987, from starter bungalows to large lakefront estates. Gary Field Homes Inc in Newbury has been building custom homes since 1986. Rumble Homes is a family run builder in Merlin whose history reaches back to the early 1970s.

Country lots shape the work. Ritchie Home Builders Ltd. in Newbury is a family owned custom builder focused on rural homes and large remodels in Middlesex, Lambton, Chatham-Kent and Elgin Counties, and it has operated since 2016. Gary Field Homes Inc also works on septic systems, water lines, laneways and geothermal heating and cooling, and can arrange to have an old house demolished before the new one goes up. Both handle permits as part of the job.

Buyers who would rather not hunt for land have options too. Rumble Homes offers available and exclusive lots in a new subdivision in the area, with a hold with deposit option to reserve a home. First Family Homes Inc builds custom homes and adult lifestyle communities, with current locations at Lanz Park in Blenheim and Kenzie Lane in Tilbury. Bouma Builders Inc builds on a client's own lot and also has lots in subdivisions where it is currently building.
